You can help to prevent sun-damaged skin by taking the following steps:
1. Use sun screen at least SPF 15 with a broad spectrum
of protection agaist UV-A UV-B rays
2. Protect your lips with special lip
sun block preparations with
at least SPF 20.
3. Avoid being outdoors during the
brightest times (10 AM to 3 PM).
4. The closer to the equator you go
the stronger the sun.
5. Use sunglases with UV protection.
6. Use clothing to protect yourself.
Long sleeve shirts, long pants, and
broad brimmed hats.
7. High SPF fabric are available. Look for
sun protection clothing.
8. Ask your doctors and pharmacists
about the affect your different drugs
have in the sun.
9. Have your dermatologist, family
doctor examine your skin for skin
abnormalities.
10. Be aware that prescription
drugs can cause problems when you
use them and then expose your skin
to the sun. Talk to your pharmacist.
